CognoLink Announces Expansion into the Nordic region
Leading research firm to acquire expert network with focus in the Nordic region
London, 18 June 2010: CognoLink, a leading primary research firm which specialises in engaging industry specialists with investors, today announced it had assumed the operations of Epito, the Stockholm-based leading Nordic expert network.
Founded in 2007 by a former investment manager for GIAB and a former Bain & Company consultant, Epito was selected by CognoLink because of its shared culture and operational excellence, along with its reputation as the number one expert network in the Nordics. The deal positions CognoLink, which already has a leading European presence, as the top choice for global investors interested in topics related to the Nordic market.
The founders of Epito, Anders Wendelius and Jacob Alvarsson, will remain responsible for account and business development for the Nordic region. The research and project management operations for Epito’s clients will be seamlessly integrated with those of CognoLink’s in London. CognoLink has been recognized in the industry for its leading matching abilities between clients and specialists, and Epito will now be able to take advantage of its leadership and best practices in matching and compliance.
“Epito is the number one expert network in the Nordics with a strong presence across Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark. Like CognoLink, it was recognized for its excellent matching capabilities. The complementary geographic focus and shared operational excellence had a great deal to do with why this agreement makes sense for both of our companies,” said Emmanuel Tahar, Chief Executive Officer of CognoLink. “Through Epito’s network, our clients will benefit from increased access to the Nordic region, which has generated much interest among investors.”
“This partnership brings enormous advantages to our client base, which will now have access to a leading specialist network with world-class servicing capabilities beyond the Nordics. It will also greatly benefit our specialists in the region, who will have more consulting opportunities with a broader client base,” said Anders Wendelius, Chief Executive Officer of Epito. “CognoLink’s reputation as the leading international expert network will enable us to continue to expand aggressively in the Nordics.”
The agreement closed on 8th June 2010, and became effective on 9th June 2010.
